But Grow in the Grace and Knowledge of Our LORD
It’s a joy to send you this picture of blue skies and shimmering golden leaves!
(Especially so, since we have been under many days of gray, wet and stormy weather from Sandy. Most of the beautifully coloured leaves have now been stripped from their branches by the storm.)
But this tree, in its golden glory, was captured just days earlier…..
How special it is that through photographs….or memories….we are able to capture and hold on to a precious time and place.
The maple tree is stunningly beautiful…majestic and regal!
And this powerful scripture passage challenges us…and urges us….to grow in the grace…and knowledge…of the Lord!!
We know that this maple giant became what it is by starting as just one tiny seed.
But that seed sprouted…then rooted…then grew…and thrived…though twisted by storms and winds, and it allowed those difficult things to make it stronger—sending its roots deeper into healthy soil for nourishment, refreshment and stability….
….isn’t that a picture of our lives?
….storms…
….wind….
….rain….
….but also plenty of sunshine and nutrition that we can grow in the grace of God?!
His word, the Bible, is that brilliant source of light and nutrition!!
I encourage you to crack open its living pages, and feast on it’s words…that you may grow in the grace and knowledge of the Lord…to His glory!!
“And this is eternal life, that they may know You, the only true God, and Jesus Christ whom You have sent.
John 17:3-4
“For it is the God who commanded light to shine out of darkness, who has shone in our hearts to give the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ.”
2 Cor. 4:6
Enjoy the feast! Growth will result!
Hugs!
